He’s really only ever done reporting. Running around from one lead to another, taking pictures, doing interviews, typing, writing, editing, and so on. Often he digs a bit to deep into something he shouldn’t, and will often come into contact with the strange and unusual, witches, demon cultists, vampires, immortal serial killers, werewolves, gods, and so on. Kolchak takes it all in stride, and often works to expose the truth of it all. Even if the truth makes him seem insane or fanciful.
Suppressions: A desire to simply hang up his hat. Kolchak is getting on in age, and while he still has plenty of energy to continue keeping on, his body and mind are just not what they had been when he was younger. Part of him wants to settle down, but an even stronger part of him wants, and needs, to keep going and doing what he’s been doing.
Desire for companionship.
Fear of being unable to discern reality from fiction.
Believing the whole world is mad but him.
Obsession in finding the truth, no matter how harmful, or surreal it might be.
Desire to bring the truth to the general populace.
Wish to win a Pulitzer.
Greatest Fear: Losing his mind when he needs it the most. Kolchak thrives on being able to discern truth behind falsehoods. Losing his ability to see through the veil of lies would ruin him. This fear is especially strong with his current age (he’s yet to find the Philosopher’s Stone).
Greatest Desire: To make as many people as possible aware of the things that go on in the background of everyday life
Greatest Regret: The disappearance of his girlfriend, Gail Foster and inability to find her.
